(More customer reviews)I was worried that the frame wouldn't be the same colored as displayed on Amazon; however, Amazon's image is pretty accurate. I bought this to compliment our dark brown wood bookcases, which worked out nicely. I had to grab a straight slot screwdriver to undo the prongs on the back (it hurt to use my fingers) to take out the default photo and to put my own photo in. The front shield/photo cover is made of plastic, which also has a film cover that you can choose to take off.
